We are fortunate to have so many talented men and women working in the field and offices throughout our 11-state UBC Southern District. Labor Day is an excellent time to thank each and every one of you for your hard work and dedication all year long.

Did you know that the UBC and its first leader, Peter J. McGuire, are directly responsible for establishing Labor Day as a federal holiday? Thatís just one unique aspect of our great Union. At some point during this Labor Day weekend, please stop and take a look through our great Unionís history.†Check it out here.

On behalf of the UBC Southern District, I wish all of our members and employers, and their families, a happy and safe Labor Day holiday.

Yours in Solidarity,

Dennis Donahou, Vice-President

UBC Southern District
