Here’s a “job well done” to Tennessee Local 74 and member Shaun Haynes (pictured, middle, with dark ball cap), a carpenter steward for Day & Zimmerman at the TVA Watts Bar Nuclear Plant.
Job stewards for D&Z were approached by D&Z Site Manager DeWarren Washington, who asked them to sponsor a Food Drive for a local Food Pantry, Meigs County Ministries. This was to help replenish stock that was depleted for the holidays and ongoing COVID-19 demands. When the event was announced, D&Z employees at TVA’s Sequoyah Nuclear Plant offered to pitch in and help with food donations. The stewards met and formed a plan to have an enclosed trailer staged onsite.
Tennessee Union workers once again stepped up and helped raise over $1,000 and loaded a 6x12 trailer with non-perishable food items. Carpenters Local Union 74 also sent a $200 cash donation to support the effort. Each dollar donated provides 100 pounds of food! Well done, everyone!
